Cascais punches well above its weight for urban greenery: the central Parque Marechal Carmona threads through the old aristocratic estate gardens, while just north of town the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park opens onto thousands of hectares of cliff-top maquis, pine forest and dune trails. Most parks require leashes, but the wilder coast paths between Boca do Inferno and Guincho are where Cascais dogs do their serious running.

💡 Start from the Cascais marina end after 18:00 in summer — the cliffs cast shade westwards and the surface is much cooler on paw pads than the asphalt around midday.
Cliff-top walk west of the marina to the spectacular Boca do Inferno blowhole, then continuing on an unpaved trail toward Praia do Guincho. Spectacular Atlantic views, sea spray and full exposure to the wind.
Off-leash zone: Leash required near the railings; the unpaved stretch beyond Boca do Inferno toward Cresmina is where locals walk dogs more loosely on calm days
