Château Comtal (outer courtyards & ramparts)
The 12th-century citadel at the heart of La Cité, restored by Viollet-le-Duc in the 19th century. Leashed dogs are admitted in the outer courtyards and on the lower section of the rampart walk, but the indoor museum rooms and the upper covered wall walks are reserved for assistance dogs only. Entry is via the Centre des Monuments Nationaux (full ticket €12, free for under-18 EU residents); the outer courtyards alone are free and accessible during opening hours.
💡 Buy the timed-entry ticket online to skip the queue; on arrival, the staff will let you keep the dog with you on the outer courtyards while a partner visits the indoor rooms.
