Compact, walled Cadiz is short on large parks but generous with seafront promenades and a few green oases where leashed dogs are welcome. For real off-leash running, the city has dedicated fenced dog areas (areas caninas) rather than open parks.
The city's flagship green space, a 29,000 sq m botanical garden with over 100 species of trees from South America, Japan and beyond, set right above the Atlantic ramparts. Dogs are welcome on a leash along the shaded avenues and around the ornamental lake.
Off-leash zone: Dogs must be kept on a leash throughout the park.

A fenced municipal off-leash dog area set in the green moat (fosos) of the historic Puertas de Tierra gateway that separates the old town from the newer city. It gives dogs a safe enclosed space to run right at the entrance to the casco antiguo.

A fenced dog-exercise area in the modern part of Cadiz near Plaza Asdrubal, where dogs can run and socialise off the leash. It is one of several municipal dog areas the Ayuntamiento maintains across the city.
