Dog Parks & Green Spaces in Bristol

162 hectares of landscaped deer park, mansion grounds and woodland on the south-west side of the Avon Gorge — Bristol's premier off-leash destination. Formal gardens, ancient oaks, two herds of deer (handle on leash near them) and direct access to the Festival of Nature trails.

157 hectares of open common land at the top of the Avon Gorge, with 12 km of mown grass paths, the Sea Walls cliff overlook, and the Clifton Observatory. Off-leash by default. The Downs are the heart of Bristol's daily dog-walking culture — easily 200+ dogs at any moment on a Sunday morning.

A 5-hectare green oasis in the heart of central Bristol, on the banks of the Floating Harbour, with the medieval ruins of Bristol Castle. Dogs welcome on leash; lots of benches, an open lawn good for short walks between sights. Major summer events (Bristol Pride, food fairs) close the park temporarily.
