Best Dog-Friendly Beaches in Boulogne-sur-Mer

A 2 km wide-sand stretch running south from the port de pêche under the Boulevard Sainte-Beuve seafront, directly opposite Nausicaá, with views of the Cap d'Alprech lighthouse to the south and the British coast on clear days. The central July-August lifeguarded zone restricts pets; the northern end towards the port and the southern end towards Le Portel welcome leashed dogs year-round.

A 1.5 km curve of sand at the foot of the 60 m chalk cliffs topped by the Cap d'Alprech lighthouse, the southern bookend of the Boulogne port approach. Quieter than the central Plage de Boulogne, with rock pools at low tide and the GR120 clifftop walk above. Leashed dogs welcome year-round; small summer lifeguard zone at the Le Portel village centre.

A 2 km Belle Epoque seafront strand in front of the Digue de Mer of Wimereux village, with 19th-century villas, sand-yacht room and views north to Ambleteuse and Cap Gris-Nez. Linked to Boulogne by the easy GR120 coastal path (1h walk) or the TER train (5 min). Leashed dogs welcome year-round outside the small July-August lifeguarded zone in the village centre.
