Boston has one international airport (Logan BOS) on a peninsula a 10-minute Silver Line ride from Downtown, the MBTA 'T' subway network (the oldest in the US, 1897), the MBTA commuter rail, MBTA buses, the Bluebikes bikeshare and Amtrak's Northeast Corridor (including the Acela) at South Station and Back Bay Station. The T and the commuter rail both accept small pets in fully enclosed carriers free of charge, with off-peak restrictions on commuter rail. Larger dogs are welcomed at the conductor's discretion on the T off-peak. Uber Pet and Lyft Pet cover the entire metro for a $3-5 surcharge. Logan BOS has indoor pet relief areas in every terminal, and JetBlue, Delta, American and United accept small pets in cabin for $95-150 per segment. The Charles River Esplanade and Harborwalk are pedestrian-and-leashed-dog corridors that link most downtown sights without a car.
