Bergen is one of Europe’s most pet-tolerant cities, but Norway is outside the EU pet-passport scheme and has its own (similar but distinct) entry rules. Plan paperwork in advance.

- 2.Norwegian leash law: 1 April-20 August dogs must be on leash everywhere outside dedicated dog parks. After 21 August dogs can be off-leash in nature with proper recall.
- 3.Bergen weather is famously rainy, 240+ rainy days per year. Pack a dog raincoat and dry-towels; many cafés keep an extra towel by the door for wet dogs.
