Dog Parks & Nature in Bergen

The most accessible of the seven Bergen mountains, reachable by the Fløibanen funicular (dogs free) in 7 minutes from the city centre. Top has 50 km of marked trails through pine forest, panoramic views over Bergen, a café with outdoor seating, and dogs run off-leash on the upper plateau (outside nesting season).

At 643 m, Bergen’s highest mountain, reached by the Ulriken643 cable car (dogs free with leash). Endless trails along the mountain ridge, including the famous Vidden 14 km hike between Ulriken and Fløyen. Wind on the summit can be intense; dogs need to be trained for it.

The largest urban park in Bergen, 80,000 m² of romantic English-style gardens with a small pond, mature trees and pedestrian paths. Leashed dogs welcome year-round; the southern lawn is a popular off-leash area outside nesting season.
