Bad Gastein has no city parks in the classic sense, and it does not need any: the town hangs on a forested mountainside laced with promenades, waterfall paths and a flat side valley that feel purpose-built for dogs. Leads are expected on all of them, and in summer you will share the higher meadows with grazing cattle.

The Gasteiner Ache crashes 341 m in three stages through the middle of town, and this free stair-and-platform path follows it down towards Badbruck past the 1840 stone waterfall bridge. The spray keeps the gorge deliciously cool, which dogs appreciate on summer afternoons.
