Riverside Walks & Waterfront Areas in Angers

The most picturesque riverside walk in central Angers, running along the right bank of the Maine directly beneath the Château's medieval ramparts. Dogs are welcome on leash year-round on the broad paved promenade, with shaded benches and direct views of the fortress and the Pont de Verdun.

A wide, mostly flat towpath running north along the Maine from Reculée toward Cantenay-Épinard, popular with joggers, cyclists, and dog owners year-round. The riverside grass strip lets dogs stretch on a long lead and reach shallow wading spots away from boat traffic.

A 100-hectare urban lake on the southwest edge of Angers with 220 hectares of surrounding leisure park, walking circuits, and grass beaches. The bathing beach itself is closed to dogs in summer (June–September) but the surrounding paths and quieter shoreline accept dogs on leash year-round.
