The 9th links the Opera Garnier, the grands magasins and South Pigalle (SoPi). It is dense, very urban, with relatively few green spaces but a strong neighbourhood cafe scene that welcomes small dogs. The Square d'Anvers and Square Berlioz are the main pause points. Department-store sidewalks (Boulevard Haussmann) get crowded, prefer the calmer Martyrs/SoPi side streets.
