Er is geen metro, en huisdieren zijn over het algemeen niet toegestaan in openbare bussen of gewone straattaxi's (alleen assistentiehonden hebben gegarandeerd toegang). De meeste baasjes gebruiken een privévoertuig, een ritdienstauto waarvan de chauffeur akkoord gaat, of een speciale huisdierentaxi. De afstanden zijn groot en de zomerhitte streng, dus een auto met airconditioning is verreweg de handigste en diervriendelijkste manier om je in de stad te verplaatsen met een hond.

Before travel you need a UAE import permit from the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, an ISO microchip, a valid rabies vaccination and a recent official health certificate. From the airport, arrange a private car or pet-taxi in advance, as buses and standard taxis will not carry the dog.
