The Kaiservilla's guided interior tour does not admit dogs, but a cheaper park-only ticket lets you walk the full 20-hectare Kaiserpark grounds while a companion or the whole party takes turns doing the tour, or simply enjoy the park and skip the villa entirely.
No lake in town, but plenty nearby
Bad Ischl sits at the confluence of the Ischl and Traun rivers but has no lake, so plan a half-day trip to the verified Hundebadeplatz on the Hallstättersee near Obertraun (about 30 km) or the informal dog access at Altmünster on the Traunsee (about 25 km) if your dog needs a real swim.
Muzzle and leash on every form of transport
Austria applies a nationwide muzzle-and-leash rule for dogs on ÖBB trains, Postbus services and the Katrin cable car (which carries dogs free). Pack a well-fitted muzzle even if your dog rarely needs one, staff do check before boarding.
