Castle Island & Pleasure Bay (off-season)
Castle Island in South Boston is a peninsula crowned by Fort Independence (1851) with a 4 km flat seawall loop around Pleasure Bay, one of Boston's most beloved walks. Year-round, leashed dogs are welcome on the seawall, the fort exterior and the grass lawns; from October 1 to March 31 they are also welcome on the beach itself. The protected Pleasure Bay water is calm and the seawall faces Logan Airport runways - one of the city's signature dog-and-plane-spotting walks. Sullivan's at the entrance does fried clams and is a leashed-dog patio (off-season tables).
Règles : Leash required year-round on the seawall and fort exterior; beach is no-dogs April 1 to September 30. Pick-up bags mandatory. The Fort Independence interior tours do not admit pets, only service animals.
