Agua y ribera dog-friendly en Zaragoza

A wide, shaded riverside soto (riparian forest) on the right bank of the Ebro east of the city, with shallow gravel beaches where dogs can wade and swim. The current is gentle in the protected pools formed where side channels meet the main river. Off-leash permitted during seasonal hours; the surrounding woodland is one of the few real countryside walks accessible from central Zaragoza without a long drive.

The historic Imperial Canal of Aragón, built in the 18th century to irrigate the Aragonese plain, runs through the southern half of the city and provides a long, calm waterway with grassy banks and shaded towpaths. Dogs are welcome along the entire towpath; the calmer stretches near Pignatelli have low banks where confident swimmers can enter the water. Not deep, but cool and clean.

A protected oxbow wetland on the Ebro just north-west of the city — a former meander of the river now home to herons, otters and a 5 km loop of marked walking trails. Several shallow access points where dogs can wade and cool off in the meander pools. The ecological reserve status means leashes are mandatory on all marked trails, but the secondary side paths along the Ebro itself allow off-leash swimming in summer.
