Dog-Friendly Attractions in Zandvoort

Zandvoort's boulevard is one of the few promenades in the Netherlands with an uninterrupted view of the open sea, running for several kilometres above the beach. It is a level, easy walk with a leashed dog, lined with cafés and pavilions where you can stop for a drink, and it stays enjoyable in every season, at its wildest and emptiest under a winter storm.

The dune-set Circuit Zandvoort, home of the Dutch Grand Prix, is one of the town's landmarks, and a walking route through the surrounding dunes lets you see the track and read its racing history from the outside. Dogs are not admitted inside the venue on event days, and the noise then is intense, but on a quiet day the dune paths around the perimeter make an atmospheric leashed walk with the circuit as a backdrop.

Behind the seafront, the compact village core around the Kerkplein church square and the Grote Krocht shopping street is a pleasant leashed stroll, with cafés, small shops and the everyday feel of a working Dutch coastal town rather than a resort strip. It is a short, sheltered walk when the wind is up on the boulevard, and links easily to the station and the beach.
