Nationaal Park Duinen van Texel
De Koog ยท Ruijslaan 92, 1796 AD De Koog (visitor entrance)
A 4,300-hectare national park covering the western dune belt from De Slufter to the Mokbaai, with marked walking and cycling routes through wild dune grass, freshwater valleys, mature pine plantations and coastal heath. Dogs are leashed on most routes April 1โSeptember 1 (bird nesting) and free off-marked-path from September 16 to April 14. The De Dennen pine forest in the centre keeps a year-round off-leash trail loop that works in any weather.
๐ก From the EcoMare car park follow the green-marked De Dennen forest loop; it is the only year-round off-leash section and stays sheltered when the wind hits the open dunes.
