Dog-Friendly Attractions in Stockholm

Stockholm's medieval old town is a labyrinth of narrow cobblestone alleys, colourful 17th-century buildings, and hidden courtyards. Dogs are welcome throughout the outdoor streets and squares. Stortorget, the main square, is particularly photogenic. The island is compact and easily walked in 1–2 hours. Many of the cafés and restaurants on the main streets have terraces where dogs are welcome.

The world's oldest open-air museum sits on a hill on Djurgården with sweeping views across Stockholm. Dogs are permitted in the outdoor areas of the museum on a leash, though not inside any of the historic buildings. The grounds are extensive — over 150 historic buildings have been relocated here — making it a full afternoon's walk for a dog. Check current pet policy on their website before visiting.

A 500-metre clifftop walkway along the northern edge of Södermalm with what many consider the finest view in Stockholm — looking north across Riddarfjärden bay to Gamla Stan, Kungsholmen, and the city skyline. Completely dog-friendly and outdoors. The walk is flat, paved, and dotted with benches. Best at sunset when the city lights begin to reflect on the water.
