Best Dog-Friendly Parks in Sankt Pölten

The Traisen riverbanks have been reshaped into a continuous park axis running 4 km through the city, with wide gravel paths, tree shade and direct water access for a quick dog dip. The signed Traisental cycle path R26 follows the same corridor, so keep right and your leash short on busy stretches.

A 12-hectare wooded park east of the Altstadt with mature oaks, looping gravel paths and a small forest pond. Less manicured than the Traisenpark and a favourite of locals doing 30-45 minute morning walks with their dogs.

Signed fenced off-leash zone next to the Viehofener See bathing lake, with a mixed grass and gravel surface and a small water trough. One of two municipal Hundezonen in the city and the largest, around 2,000 sqm.
