Pet-Friendly Attractions in Riva del Garda

The heart of Riva is this arcaded medieval square opening directly onto the lake, overlooked by the 13th-century Apponale tower and Middle-European facades. It is a relaxed, fully walkable place to stroll with a dog, with cafe terraces under the porticoes and the lakefront and harbour just steps away.

A round grey-stone tower from the early 16th century perched on the slopes of Monte Rocchetta, the Bastione is the symbol of Riva and a superb viewpoint over the town and the lake. You can reach it on foot in about 30 minutes or take the panoramic lift, and dogs are allowed one per cabin with a muzzle and leash.

A dramatic 90-metre waterfall thundering through a narrow cave-gorge about 3 km from the centre, with walkways built into the rock to view it from inside the chasm. Leashed dogs are allowed, but the damp, loud, spray-filled environment can be stressful for dogs sensitive to noise or cold, so judge your own dog before entering.
