Pet-Friendly Attractions in Portorož

A living landscape of thousand-year-old salt pans on the Croatian border, worked by hand and alive with wading birds and rare plants. The park has two areas, Lera to the north and Fontanigge to the south, each with its own opening hours and reception.

A short hop from Portorož, Piran is a car-free Venetian-Gothic town squeezed onto a stone headland around Tartini Square and its bell tower. Almost entirely pedestrian, its lanes, quays and town walls are made for a leashed wander.

The heart of the resort is its grand Belle Époque seafront, where historic spa hotels and the palm promenade recall Portorož's century as a fashionable thalasso destination. You stroll it freely on the leash, though the wellness and thalasso spas themselves stay dog-free indoors.
