April–June and September–October are ideal: 18-26°C, beach swimmable, terraces in full swing. Avoid July–August (28-32°C, sirocco wind, sun-baked streets). November–March mild but rainy.
Palermo is the most chaotic-fun of Italy's major cities for a dog, relaxed taverna culture, year-round beach access at Mondello, the 400-ha Parco della Favorita, but also intense summer heat and Mediterranean-level traffic. Spring and autumn are ideal; summer is brutal for dogs.

Palermo's cobbled streets and Mondello sand both exceed 60°C in July-August midday, paw burns are real. Walk dogs before 09:00, after 19:00. Hotel AC is essential. Mondello water at 28°C is also too warm for older or thick-coated dogs.
Italy uses the euro. Palermo is the cheapest major Italian city: meal 14-22 EUR, street food 2-4 EUR per item, mid-range pet-friendly hotel 90-140 EUR/night, taxi to airport 50 EUR fixed.
