Content coming soon. Montréal is a river island with several genuine sand beaches, but not one of them admits dogs onto the sand. Plage Jean-Doré at Parc Jean-Drapeau allows leashed dogs in the green spaces and on the trails yet keeps them out of the park facilities including the beach itself, the Cap-Saint-Jacques nature park requires domestic animals to stay outside the beach sector, and the Old Port's Plage de l'Horloge excludes pets outright apart from service dogs. There is no designated dog beach in the city, so the honest substitute is water you walk beside rather than swim in: the Lachine Canal path, the riverside paths of Parc de la Promenade-Bellerive in the east end, and the fenced dog runs when your dog needs to actually run.
