Dog Parks & Walks in Montpellier

Montpellier's best dedicated dog park — a 6,000 m² enclosed off-leash area beside the Lez River with canine play equipment, benches, and shaded areas. The riverside setting is beautiful and the park itself is one of the largest purpose-built dog spaces in southern France, popular with local dog owners daily.

A 4.59-hectare formal esplanade at the heart of Montpellier, with a triumphal arch, a magnificent 18th-century water tower, and panoramic views stretching to the Cévennes and on clear days to the Pyrénées. Dogs are welcome on a leash throughout the promenade — the wide tree-lined allées are perfect for a morning walk before the heat of the day.

The banks of the Lez River running through Montpellier offer several kilometres of walking path with off-leash sections where dogs can cool off in the water. The Montcalm and Aiguelongue sections are particularly popular and have formal caniparcs nearby — a complete loop through both riverbanks takes 1.5–2 hours.
