4.4 km² lake 8 km south of the centre, 11 km of beach-fringed shoreline with one official Hundestrand at the north-west corner. The most accessible dog-swimming option from Leipzig, S-Bahn S2 12 min.

A quieter sister lake to Cospudener, 2.5 km², connected by a short canal. Quieter than Cossi, with fewer summer crowds. The south-east Hundestrand is reachable by bus 70 from the centre.
💡 Combine with the Auenhain canoe rental and a 4 km canal kayak loop, the rental accepts well-behaved leashed dogs in stable kayaks.
Seestraße, 04420 Markranstädt
A 1.5 km² lake 12 km west of the centre, quieter and less developed than Cossi, with the cleanest water in the Leipzig Neuseenland. The west bank has a year-round dog zone with sand entry. Tram 15 + 5 min walk.
