Klagenfurt's main attractions are largely outdoor and dog-friendly: the Neuer Platz with its iconic Lindwurmbrunnen dragon fountain, the Renaissance Landhaus courtyard, the Minimundus open-air miniature park (dogs on leash welcome), and the Wörthersee lakefront. Indoor museums are mostly closed to dogs.

The 1593 dragon fountain on the Neuer Platz, Klagenfurt's signature monument and the symbol of the city. Carved from a single block of chlorite slate, the dragon faces the Habsburg statue of Maria Theresa across the square.

Open-air miniature park with more than 150 1:25 scale models of world landmarks (Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty, Taj Mahal). On the western Wörthersee shore inside the Europapark. Dogs on a short leash welcome throughout the outdoor paths.
💡 Bus 10 from the centre or 25-minute Lendkanal walk. Visit on a cloudy day, the white miniatures are easier on the dog's eyes than under bright sun.

The 1574 Renaissance Landhaus is the seat of the Carinthian parliament. The arcaded courtyard with its painted Wappensaal is open to visitors and dogs on leash during the day; the Alter Platz pedestrian street outside is the Altstadt's main artery.
💡 The Alter Platz fills with locals from 18:00 to 22:00 in summer. Open-air aperitivo with a dog is part of Klagenfurt life.
