The Hamburger Verkehrsverbund covers every rail, bus and ferry line in Hamburg and the metropolitan region. Small dogs in closed carriers travel free; larger dogs need a child-rate ticket (Kinderkarte) and must be on a short leash. A muzzle may be requested by staff if crowded; staff can refuse boarding without one.
