Fuengirola calls itself a pet-friendly town and has around seven fenced municipal dog parks (parques caninos) where dogs can run off-leash, plus the large riverside park at the Río Fuengirola mouth. Everywhere else dogs must be leashed under Andalusian rules.

The Senda Litoral boardwalk extends the Paseo Marítimo along the whole 7 km coast, giving a flat, on-leash walking route with sea breezes and plenty of chiringuito stops. It is the easiest year-round leg-stretch for dogs staying in central Fuengirola.
