The publicly run lake ferry network linking Como to Cernobbio, Bellagio, Varenna, Menaggio and the high lake. Both slow boats (battello) and fast hydrofoils (servizio rapido) run from the Piazza Cavour dock; dogs are accepted on every vessel.
🐾 Small dogs in a closed carrier travel free. Larger leashed and muzzled dogs travel with a supplemental dog ticket (around half-fare); refusals are extremely rare
💡 Take the slow battello from Como to Bellagio (around 2h, magnificent open deck) outbound and the hydrofoil back (45 min): one ticket each way, dogs allowed on both.
