Lake Como is deep, clear and warm enough to swim from June to early September. Most official lido bathing establishments around the south basin exclude dogs in summer, but discreet pebble bays, public lakeside paths and a handful of dog-tolerant village lidos further up the lake offer good swimming options for visiting dogs.

Small public pebble beach on the eastern lakeshore below Villa Geno, free entry, shallow entry into the lake. The closest swim spot to the city centre that informally tolerates dogs outside the peak July–August lifeguarded hours.

Lido di Cernobbio

Public lido in the elegant village of Cernobbio, 3 km north of Como, with a grass sunbathing lawn, a pebble beach and direct shallow lake entry. One of the few Lake Como lidos that explicitly accepts dogs on the grass area (not on the swim platform).

💡 Take the C10 SPT bus from Como Piazza Matteotti (10 min, dogs free if small/carrier or half-fare ticket) or walk the 40-minute lakeside path from the centre.

Spiaggia di Faggeto Lario (Quiet Bay)

Free pebble beach 11 km north of Como on the eastern shore in the village of Faggeto Lario, with shallow lake entry, a small wooden pier and quiet woodland just behind. Dogs allowed off-leash if under voice control, one of the lake's most relaxed informal dog swim spots.
