Pet-Friendly Parks in Brussels

The Bois de la Cambre is Brussels' most popular park for dogs and their owners. At the southern end of Avenue Louise, this 123-hectare park has designated off-leash zones where dogs can run freely. The central lake, wooded paths, and open meadows make it ideal for a long morning walk. On weekend mornings the park is full of Brussels dog owners and it has the feel of a genuine community gathering place.

One of Brussels' grandest parks, dominated by the triumphal arch and flanked by the Royal Museums. Leashed dogs are welcome throughout and the wide gravel paths and open lawns make for dignified walks. The park is popular with European Quarter office workers and their dogs at lunchtime, and with families on weekends. The scale and formality of the park give it a different energy from the Bois de la Cambre — more architectural, more Brussels.

A lesser-known but excellent park in the Forest commune, with a mix of formal gardens and wild wooded areas. Dogs are welcome on leash throughout and there is an informal off-leash area used by local dog owners in the wooded section. The park is rarely crowded and offers a genuinely pleasant, unhurried walking experience. The Altitude 100 viewpoint gives good views over the city.

The large park adjacent to the Royal Palace of Laeken, near the Atomium. The public section of the park is open to dogs on leash and offers wide tree-lined allées and open lawns. Combine a visit here with a walk to see the Atomium from the outside and the Japanese Tower nearby. A quieter alternative to the Bois de la Cambre for those staying in the north of Brussels.
