Bled Castle (Blejski grad)
Castle Hill (above the lake) ยท Grajska cesta 61, 4260 Bled
Bled Castle perches dramatically on a 130 m limestone cliff above the northeastern shore of the lake, one of Slovenia's oldest castles (first documented 1011). The outdoor courtyards, terraces, ramparts, and the chapel courtyard are all open to leashed dogs, and the panoramic terrace offers what is widely regarded as the finest view of Lake Bled, the island, and the church. Dogs are not permitted inside the indoor castle museum or the chapel. The 15 to 20 minute climb up from the lake on a wooded path is itself a fine dog walk.
๐ก Walk up the wooded path starting near the parish church, around 15 to 20 minutes from the lakeshore. The terrace view at the top is the best in Bled, especially at golden hour.
