Travelling with Your Dog in Bellagio, Ferries, Buses & Connections

Bellagio is the central hub of the Lake Como ferry network with frequent connections to Como city (battello slow boat 2 h, hydrofoil 45 min), Varenna (15 min) and Menaggio (15 min). Slow ferries, fast hydrofoils and car-and-passenger ferries (battello) all dock at Piazza Mazzini; dogs are accepted on every vessel.

The Centro Lago car-and-passenger ferry shuttles between Bellagio, Varenna, Menaggio and Cadenabbia every 30-40 minutes from early morning to late evening. The open vehicle deck is generous and quiet, making it the most relaxed option for medium and large dogs. Cars carry up to 6 passengers and pets free.

ASF Autolinee operates the C30 / Linea 13 bus along the eastern Como branch shore from Como Piazza Matteotti to Bellagio (around 1 h 10 min, hourly in season). The bus takes the spectacular SS583 lake road. Small dogs in carriers ride free; larger leashed and muzzled dogs accepted at the driver`s discretion.
