A classic shingle beach in the Kent town known for its oysters and independent food scene. Dogs are welcome year-round across the full beach — no seasonal restrictions. The main beach road is lined with seafood shacks and dog-friendly pubs, making it one of the most practical dog-beach day trips from London. The beach surface is rounded pebbles — softer on paws than gravel but tiring for older dogs on long walks.

One of the most beautiful beaches in the southeast — wide, sweeping golden sand dunes that extend for over 3 miles. Dogs are allowed year-round on the eastern and western sections; the central section near the main car parks is restricted from May to September. The dunes provide excellent off-lead territory outside the restricted zone. Note that the dog restriction on the central section is actively enforced from June onwards.
