The 5th, the Latin Quarter, runs from the Seine quays up to the Pantheon and the Jardin des Plantes. It is studious, lively in the evenings around Mouffetard, and gently sloped. The Jardin des Plantes bans dogs entirely, which is the main constraint, but the Berges de Seine, Square Rene Viviani and the small Mouffetard squares give dogs room to stretch on leash.
Dogs are banned from the entire garden, including the arboretum, alpine garden and menagerie alleys. Strict enforcement.
Leashed dogs welcome on the alleys; banned from the central lawn and around the medieval Robinier tree.
