Dog-Friendly Attractions & Things to Do in Osaka

A small city-centre shrine in the historic medicine district near Nakanoshima, listed by the official Osaka tourism guide as a place that offers blessings for pets. It makes an easy leashed stop on a walk through central Osaka, though as at any shrine you should keep your dog calm and respectful of other visitors.

A large garden centre and cafe complex in Ibaraki, north of central Osaka, listed on the official Osaka tourism pet pages, with a pet-friendly outdoor terrace and a small dog run on site. It is a relaxed half-day for plant lovers and dogs, reached most easily by car or pet taxi from the city.

The large park around the Tower of the Sun in Suita has open outer areas where leashed dogs are allowed, but pets are prohibited in the paid zones such as the Natural Cultural Garden and the Japanese Garden, where only assistance dogs may enter. Plan a leashed walk through the free outer grounds and do not expect to bring a dog into the ticketed gardens.
