Interlaken's headline sights, Harder Kulm, the Höhematte, the Beatushöhlen caves and the Aareschlucht gorge, are almost all open-air and dog-friendly. The few indoor attractions dogs cannot enter (Jungfraujoch Sphinx observation deck above the altitude limit, Tropenhaus indoor sections) all sit beside dog-friendly walks, so you can swap shifts with a travel companion.

Interlaken's local mountain, reached by the Harder-Bahn funicular from Interlaken Ost in 10 minutes. The summit terrace and Two Lakes Bridge cantilever platform offer a perfectly framed Eiger-Mönch-Jungfrau panorama. Dog-friendly muzzled and leashed.

Beatushöhlen (St. Beatus Caves)

Sundlauenen / Lake Thun north shore · Sundlauenen, 3800 Interlaken

Karst cave system carved by underground streams in the cliffs above Lake Thun, with a guided 1 km loop past waterfalls, stalactites and a hermit's grotto. Reached by BLS boat from Interlaken West (25 min) or bus 21. Leashed dogs are welcome on the cave loop.

Schynige Platte Alpine Garden

Historic cogwheel railway from Wilderswil up to 2076 m and one of the oldest alpine botanical gardens in Switzerland (since 1927), with 650+ native plant species and panoramic Jungfrau ridge hiking. Dog-friendly leashed on trains and trails, muzzle on the cogwheel.
