💡 Reach the top via the historic Schlossberg cable car (dogs accepted, around 3 EUR) or via the steep Schlossbergsteig path in 25 minutes. Sunset views over the Münster are the best in town.

Two contiguous central parks between the train station and the Altstadt. Plane trees, a music pavilion, a small zoo with deer, and the Schlossberg cable car station. The most accessible green space from any central hotel.

The vast oak-and-beech wetland forest west of the city, fed by the Dreisam. Flat gravel paths, ponds and meadows, the largest off-leash dog walk in Freiburg. Reachable by tram 3 in 15 minutes.
💡 Take tram 3 to Munzinger Straße then a 10-minute walk west. Wear waterproof shoes, the lowland paths can be wet outside July and August.
