A 1.5 km off-leash dog beach on the north side of the Rickenbacker Causeway, right after the toll booth and before crossing onto Key Biscayne proper. Shallow, calm Biscayne Bay water, fine soft sand, abundant Australian pines for shade. Open dawn to dusk year-round, free dog admission (the $2.25 causeway toll applies to vehicles). One of only two off-leash beaches in all of Miami-Dade.

An off-leash Atlantic Ocean dog beach at the south end of Haulover Park in Sunny Isles, separated from the main (nudist-section) Haulover Beach by a marked perimeter. About 350 m of soft sand with surf, run by the Miami-Dade Parks Department. Dogs are free; vehicle parking $7 weekdays / $10 weekends. The only off-leash open-Atlantic-surf beach for dogs in Miami-Dade.

Not a dog-swim beach (state-park rules ban dogs from the actual sand and water), but the entire 2 km boardwalk and the trails around the historic 1825 Cape Florida Lighthouse welcome leashed dogs year-round. A useful add-on after Hobie Beach if you want to dry off the dog with a long walk and see one of South Florida's most photographed lighthouses.
