A 3 km wide-sand stretch running west from the Port de Calais under the Digue Gaston Berthe promenade and the 51 m black-and-white striped lighthouse, with direct views of the cross-Channel ferries entering and leaving the port and the Dover white cliffs on clear days. The central lifeguarded zone (mid-June to early September) restricts pets; the northern end towards the port and the southern end towards Sangatte welcome leashed dogs year-round.

The wider sand corridor stretching west from Calais through Blériot-Plage (named for Louis Blériot, who took off from this beach in 1909 for the first cross-Channel flight) to Sangatte at the foot of the Cap Blanc-Nez chalk cliffs. Quieter than the central Plage de Calais, with kite-surfers and wide-open sand. Leashed dogs welcome year-round; small summer lifeguard zone at Blériot.

A wide protected sand bay between the two Caps of the Grand Site, with 12 km of clean sand backed by sand dunes and salt-meadows, one of the cleanest beaches on the Côte d'Opale and a kite-surf and sand-yacht hotspot. Leashed dogs welcome year-round outside the small central Wissant village lifeguarded zone in summer.
