La Valette même n'a pas de plage de baignade, mais les 'plages canines' officielles de Malte sont accessibles en excursion. La loi maltaise autorise les chiens sur la plupart des plages du 1er octobre au 31 mai, du 1er juin au 30 septembre les chiens sont restreints à un petit nombre de plages canines désignées. La plus proche est Mistra Bay près de St Paul's Bay (25 km nord), une option plus sauvage est Wied il-Għajn à Marsascala sur la côte sud-est.
A small, rocky-pebble cove near St Paul's Bay officially classified as a year-round dog beach. Calm shallow water, easy entry for dogs, and a few shaded spots under tamarisk trees. The bay is popular with local dog walkers on summer evenings.

A long stretch of sandy and rocky shore in Marsascala with a designated dog-friendly zone at the southern end of the bay. Less crowded than Mistra in peak season and well suited to dogs who like to swim, although the seabed is mixed sand and seagrass.

One of Malta's most picturesque sandy beaches, set under red-clay cliffs. Dogs are allowed from 1 October to 31 May only; in summer it reverts to a swim-only beach with no pets. Off-season, the wide expanse of sand and clean Atlantic-style swell make it one of the best dog-walking beaches in Malta.
