Located near Guincho, Praia de Cresmina has a designated dog-friendly section that is open year-round, even in summer when adjacent beaches ban dogs. The dog section is clearly signposted. Dogs can run off-leash in the designated area. The beach faces the Atlantic and can be windy — great for energetic dogs. Cascais train station is 5 km away; taxis or Uber cover the last stretch.

One of the most accessible beaches from Lisbon, Carcavelos is a long sandy beach popular with surfers and families. Dogs are permitted outside the main bathing zone from October to May freely. In summer (June–September), dogs are restricted to the far western end of the beach (early morning before 09:00 and after 19:00). The train station is right behind the beach — perfect for a quick day trip.

A sheltered bay beach south of Lisbon in the Arrábida region, Sesimbra is calmer and clearer than the Atlantic coast beaches. Dogs are permitted on the eastern section of the beach (away from the main bathing area) outside peak summer hours. The drive through the Serra da Arrábida is spectacular. No direct train — car or bus from Setúbal required.
