Villach se sitúa entre dos de los lagos más cálidos de los Alpes: el turquesa Faaker See a 10 km al sureste y el verde Ossiacher See a 5 km al norte. Ambos tienen Hundebadeplätze señalizadas (zonas de baño canino) con agua estival por encima de 24 grados, entrada gratis y pequeños aparcamientos. Drobollach y Egg son las playas caninas verificadas del Faaker See; Sattendorf y Annenheim las del Ossiacher See.
