Playa de l'Ahuir (and the trial Playa Can dog area)
A wild, natural dune beach north of the Grau, much quieter and less built-up than the main beach. A roughly 300-metre dog area (Playa Can) has been trialled here in the past, but it has been suspended in several years because of the protected dunes and Blue Flag rules, so confirm with Gandía's town hall before relying on it.
Normas: When a dog area is active, dogs are leashed on the sand and may swim freely off-leash in the sea. During the bathing season (Jun 1–Sep 30) dogs are otherwise banned from the beach with fines up to 1,500 EUR.
