Since Brexit, Great Britain no longer accepts the EU Pet Passport for entry. Dogs arriving from the EU need a GB Animal Health Certificate (AHC) issued by an official vet within 10 days of travel, plus a microchip and a valid rabies vaccination, and dogs also need an approved tapeworm (Echinococcus) treatment recorded 24 to 120 hours before arrival. A GB pet passport issued in Great Britain is also valid. Arrange this with your vet before you leave, as it cannot be done on arrival.
Pet dogs cannot go inside Conwy Castle or onto the town wall walks, which are narrow with high visitor numbers, so only assistance dogs are admitted; plan a sitter or take turns for those. Almost everything else in Conwy is open to dogs, though. On the beaches, Conwy County Borough Council operates seasonal dog restrictions from 1 May to 30 September under a Public Space Protection Order, with a 100-pound fixed penalty, so read the signs at each beach and use the year-round dog-friendly stretches such as Conwy Morfa.
Conwy has a mild, oceanic climate, wetter and cooler than southern Britain, with soft winters and warm rather than hot summers, and the mountains of Eryri behind can hold cloud and rain. Spring and autumn are ideal for a dog: the hills are quieter, the weather is often kind, and the beach dog restrictions are either not yet in force or already lifted. Whenever you come, carry a coat and water for both of you on the exposed hill walks.
